A modern abstract expressionist oil painting on canvas by Juozas Bagdonas (1911-2005). Hand signed and dated 1962 on the bottom right. Cool brushstrokes in turquoise, teal, and navy blue are juxtaposed with color blocks of golden yellow tones. A classic modern composition that by one of the key artists in the Lithuanian modernism movement. He lived in Germany, Columbia, as well as Washington, D.C. He founded the International Contemporary Art Gallery in 1960 as well as the Samogitian Museum of Art in Lithuania. From a private collection. Dimensions: 31.5"h x 27"w x 1.25"d (framed).
